Meet our health roundtable experts

  • Shayna Mancuso, D.O., FACOG is a Board-Certified OB/GYN and Medical Director in Women’s Health at Astellas Global Pharma.

    Dr. Mancuso also continues to see gynecologic patients through Northshore University Health Systems in downtown Chicago.

    She attended Medical School at Western University of Health Sciences and completed her residency in 2004 at University of Nevada School of Medicine.

    Following her post-doctoral training, Dr. Mancuso practiced full-scope OB/Gyn at several academic institutions in Chicagoland including Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital.

    She has also served as teaching faculty at University of Chicago School of Medicine, Midwestern University, and Northwestern Feinberg University School of Medicine where she participated in the training of OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine Residents & Medical Students

    Dr. Mancuso also serves on the Steering Committee for The Innovation Equity Forum (IEF) sponsored by The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).

    The IEF serves as an essential forum focused on developing innovative solutions critical to advancing Global Women’s Health Research and Development.

    She lives on the NorthShore of Chicago with her husband and 3 daughters.

  • Maureen Tart, M.D., FACOG, MSCP; OB/Gyne Associates of Lake Forest, is a board-certified OB/GYN and certified menopause practitioner. She has devoted her professional life to caring for women. Dr. Tart graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in psychology and medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Chicago. After her residency program, Dr. Tart left for Ghana to volunteer in a local hospital. When she returned to Chicago, she joined Norwegian American Hospital as the Co-Medical Director of the Women’s Health Associates Group. She also served as Vice Chair of the OB-Gyn Department where she implemented many quality and safety initiatives. In 2011 she moved to Lake Forest and joined OB/Gyne Associates of Lake Forest where she is now a partner. She currently lives in Lake Forest with her husband and two sons.

  • Dr. Kristi Tough DeSapri truly believes that women deserve to function at optimal health and are gatekeepers to their families’ and communities’ health. She is a board certified internist specializing in midlife women’s health and is regarded as a national leader in the field of osteoporosis and menopause management. After fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic, she has worked in private practice and academic medicine including being director of the Northwestern Women’s Bone Health program at the Center for Sexual Medicine and Menopause at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. She is the founding physician and owner of Bone and Body Women’s Health, LCC a specialized midlife women’s health practice in Winnetka, IL focused on consultation and management of perimenopause, menopause, osteoporosis, fracture prevention and treatment and sexual health.

    Dr. DeSapri is an invited lecturer at national academic conferences and sits on several medical society committees including the Association of Bone Mineral Research (ASBMR), Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation ( BHOF), the Menopause Society and Ms. Medicine. Since 2010 she has been an active Menopause Certified Practioner (formerly known as NAMS) which is the premier organization certifying menopause and midlife women’s health providers. Dr. DeSapri is an ISCD ( International Society of Clinical Densitometry) certified clinical densitometrist and maintains her specialized ongoing certification in bone densitometry.

    She started her practice Bone and Body Women’s Health with the goal of matching what midlife women want from their medical visit with her desire to spend quality time and expertise with her patients.

  • Morley Vahey holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Denison University and a masters in Elementary Education from DePaul. She is committed to health and wellness after her own unique personal medical journey. Morley currently works at Lake Forest Book Store co-chairing author events. She lives in Lake Bluff with her husband and two children.
